I was five and he was six. We rode on horses made of sticks. He wore black and I wore white. He would always win the fight...
One year. I have one year to make a successful pack...
Madison Grey, a pure blooded werewolf known as Wind to others of their kind, was walking slowly back and forth. The fading sun light left a chill in the air that tried to raise her fur, but to no avail. The forest was thick, dark, and endless...The den was a cave cut deep down into the core of the mountain, and she paced at the opening where a large clearing overlooked the small town below. The mountain was colder than the valley below, and this small cavern was perfect for a den where the pack could hide if they ever needed to band together.
But for what? There was no pack...
Bang bang, he shot me down. Bang bang, I hit the ground. Bang bang, that awful sound. Bang bang, my baby shot me down.
"You think you can prove to us that you can handle a territory and create a pack? You think it's so easy." Her father had claimed, his fangs barred at their previous argument. His coal black hackles raised in anger. She felt her lips quiver in a silent attempt not to snarl at her leader. She had grown cocky, arrogant with her pride of being pure blooded and the daughter of leaders. So they handed down to her their smallest piece of land; Bayville, and told her to make a successful pack.
They were not allowed to help her.
Seasons came and changed the time. When I grew up, I called him mine. He would always laugh and say, "Remember when we used to play?"
Hecter had followed her of course. He was a cocky trouble maker who was constantly getting nipped and bitten by the elders. He was older than she, but he followed her and offered to help make a pack.
"C'mon...it takes two to tango." He replied, wrapping his hands around her waist and pulling their pelvis' together.
"I rather not." She denied and he shrugged, running his fingers through his messy black locks of hair. He didn't want to be leader, but he knew he'd get to have his own way under her authority instead of becoming the omega for their old pack because of how annoying he became to the leaders. He also had plenty of female humans to play with...
Bang bang, I shot you down. Bang bang, you hit the ground. Bang bang, that awful sound. Bang bang, I used to shoot you down.
Wind never had a mate, or even a crush. She had yet to experience love and devotion. She snorted at the idea. She didn't believe in it, the way two could come together and do anything for each other... If it hadn't yet happened to her, then it wasn't true. And if it did, she told herself that the approaching male just wanted to be leader, or just wanted a good fuck. In all reality, she was just lonely...
Music played, and people sang. Just for me, the church bells rang.
She took a deep breath and felt the moon rise. Her claws flexed in the dirt, leaving little scratches in the soft earth. She let her tail sway back and forth as she watched the stars start to twinkle to life. Her brown eyes were liquid dark, like a murky lake. She was pretty, but she wasn't beautiful. She was an average female. She was tall, had a brown pelt with a red tint in the light, and was now alone...
Now he's gone, I don't know why. And till this day, sometimes I cry. He didn't even say goodbye. He didn't take the time to lie.
Bayville was a small human town that part of her family had watched as a far border. But now it was hers, and soon any male tough enough to disrespect her and beat her down could take it. Her father knew that, and she knew that. She was a fighter, but she wasn't strong enough. She needed someone to help her other than Hector. He wasn't that dependable, and neither was her old family...
But there was Synook, a lone male that had skirted the pack for some time- never joining, but never leaving the Northern Lake. She'd give it to him, let him patrol the high mountain if he'd like...
Bang bang, he shot me down. Bang bang, I hit the ground. Bang bang, that awful sound. Bang bang, my baby shot me down...
The song ended and the final notes echoed from the edge of the cliff. Several yards down, at the edge of the valley, was a parked car where the song was played on the radio. It was on low, but to her, it was blasting. She liked to listen to the music, rather than the every day life of the humans with her sensitive hearing. The radio was turned down again and passionate love was starting to be made. She laid her ears flat and exhaled, turning on her delicate pawpads and padded down the hill in the opposite direction of the teens.
She was safe enough to walk the mountain forests in her true form without disruption from the humans. No human should be up here during the night, and if so she'd hear them or smell them from miles away, and Hector was probably already asleep near the auto shop, if not, he was with a female human somewhere...

Softly we tremble tonight, picture perfect fading smiles are all that's left in sight. I said I'd never leave, you'll never change. I'm not satisfied with where I'm at in life.
"Ouch! Fucking truck..." Hector mutter as he nursed his bleed finger between his lips. Unkempt black hair fell into his bright blue eyes, a smudge of oil on his cheek. He gave a heavy sigh and let the hood of the truck slam closed. He was done for tonight. He grabbed a beer off the wood shelf and cracked it open. It fizzed instantly, having been warmed in the heat of the day. He guzzled down the bitter liquid in one gulp and tossed the glass into a trash can where it shattered loudly in the silence.
Am I supposed to be happy? With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price. Am I supposed to be happy? With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price. You said, you said that you would die for me...
He sighed and gave on last look at the auto shop before leaving. The tables were littered with crushed paper, dirty towels that were once white, and dust and dirt all over the concrete floor. He flicked the light switch off and closed the door behind him.
We made plans to grow old, believe me there was truth in all those stories that I told. Lost in a simple game cat and mouse are we the same people as before this came to light?
He didn't have a place to stay yet. He had gotten the job when he came into town, but not even an apartment was open in this small town. He didn't mind too much, because he's probably spend most of his nights with a few lady friends.
Am I supposed to be happy? With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price. Am I supposed to be happy? With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price. You said, you said that you would die for me...
He walked the quiet shoulder of the village. Quiet to humans, but to his sensitive ears, he could hear the mindless chatter of endless family's and TV shows being watched by snoring old people. He listened to the radio being played at a gas station near the auto shop, the one playing that annoying cat and mouse song he now had stuck in his head...
He wondered where Wind was...
You must live for me too'...For me too...yeah, yeah...You said that you would die for me...
He remembered when Wind and her family fought, barring their fangs with raised hackles. Wind was going to prove her honor and leadership, and was given Bayville. The next night, he planned on following her. She wouldn't be as uptight as her parents about his way with women and humans. He could do what he pleased and Wind wouldn't raise claw about it.
Am I supposed to be happy? With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price. Am I supposed to be happy? With all I ever wanted, it comes with a price. You said, you said that you would die for me...
When he was treading down the path, he was stopped by his Alphena, Wind's mother. The old blond female asked quietly if Hector would look out for her little girl. Apparently Wind's mother was going behind her mates back asking for Hector to protect Wind. He agreed, but reminded her that he wouldn't be at her side the whole time like most of the pack did for each other. This was his chance to make his mark on the small town as well, and Wind could fail and not bring any members or make a pack at all.
You said that you would die for me. You said that you would die for me ohoo. You said that you would die for me oohooo.
Nevertheless, he strolled around the town, and when he didn't catch Wind's scent, he went to the town outskirts and waited patiently for her to come down the mountain. She wasn't used to humans yet, but she'd have to. He had gotten a job easily, but soon she'd enroll in the local college.
Hector...called Helsing by others of their kind, was pure blooded, but low ranked on the pack's ranks. His parents were both of Wind's pack, but his mother had died early in his life and his father found a new mate...a human mate that already had a young baby daughter.
Years ago, Helsing helped raise that baby, his natural wolf instincts told him to as if she was a puppy, and she grew to love Helsing. He'd give her wolfy-back-rides and play tag and go belly up for her any day. He loved being a big brother, and he knew he teased and flirted with human woman so he could be like his father and have a daughter of his own one day. But no matter how much he flirted, he never found the right woman to be his human mate, nor the right type to be a mother of a half wolf...
Sarah was a beautiful black-curly-haired girl. She had these bright blue eyes that looked like stars at night when she watched him howl her to sleep... But Sarah was no more...
The day that his father and sister went to the city was the day that one of those vampires got a hold of them. His father fought all he could, but no wolf on heaven or earth could match the speed of a vampire...and Sarah...she was drained in the ditch like a sheep to the slaughter.
His heart ripped open that night...his 15th birthday was also Sarah's death day...February 14th...a day of love and passion was now the worst day in his entire life... the day the pack brought back his father's shredded body and his sister...she was pale enough to look like a vampire...and those bright blue eyes were nothing but gray stones...
Hector didn't think they'd make a pack at all, but it'd be fun to see what unfolds...
OoC: Both are open to be replied to.

"...having all this to deal with now is making it harder to sell guns. People these days."
The debate of stricter gun laws was on the small television, the only white noise that stays in the basement when shooting range is closed. Different types of firearms were scattered among the aisles, along the parts next to it with his tools. Each gun had to be inspected all over again. If it doesn't meet requirements, he had to modified it to make it so call safe.
Synook was tinkering with an fairly new rifle that came from out of the country, wanting to sell it for a higher price. He had to inspect the gun with the new policy to make sure it was legal to sell. From time to time, his eyes would go from his work to how guns are to blame for all the murders. There were a few reporters that did make since, acknowledging the matter at hands and how to end it. Then you got your airheads that 'know' what the real problem is by stirring it to the wrong direction.
"Y-Yes indeed! Since the unemployment rating is rather high, the people that are desperately trying to get a job gets them frustrated enough to make violent behavior happen."
"That makes no sense!" He yelled, dropping his work to shut off the idiot box. Just hearing that made his head pound in stupidity. "Yeah people are willing to kill someone over a job." He stood up from the work table and left the basement a mess. It was time to breathe in some fresh air for once. The smell of sulfur and hearing something unintelligent is a bad combination to him.
As he stopped outside his gun shop, The Silver Bullet, he locked the shop behind and took a deep breath through the nostrils. Exhaling slowly, he peered his head to the right, seeing Hector on the street. It's a sight for sore eyes, what he's gone through so far. They been how you can say 'buds', or 'pals', whatever it is to describe their bond, for quite a while. They help each other when needed in time, but they always have their ears and eyes on Wind. Hector is more of a guardian. To him, a personal friend.
"You need to find a hobby or something." He said, stepping off the stoop, onto the sidewalk. "At least another woman."

OoC: Wind is paused until someone responds to her.
BiC:
"You need to find a hobby or something."
Hector hmm'd to himself as he turned, looking over his shoulder to give a grin at his fellow wolf. He gave a shrug, opening his mouth to give a snide remark about his sexual behavior--but Synook beat him to it.
"At least another woman."
He gave a loud bark of a laugh, "Yah...they'll be some broken hearts tonight- but if I don't slow down, I'll run out of lovely ladies to lay with." He gave a shrug, "and of course, I shouldn't hog all the lovely ladies to myself, or should I?" He mused to the brute as he approached.
With a slight shake, Hector exhaled the chilly night air, hoping Spring would hurry it's way over the mountain. "She still won't come off the mountain-- stubborn bitch." Hector sneered.
Of course, he wasn't calling his new alpha a bitch by insult, but by title- she was of course, a female dog. The term bitch didn't phase the werewolves. It was just like calling a male a brute, or a yearling a pup.

Aparrum made his way up the mountain side reaching the high peak, loving the crunch of the snow under his paws. He looked down and saw a small town at the base of the mountain. Thinking its was interesting he started to walk down the mountain. He was a little depressed about having to convert to his human form. He had gone a whole three months with out having to change, but the food in this area was scarce and he couldn't hold his hunger at bay much longer. He let his nails scrape the ground and he yawn loudly. Stopping cold as he picked up the scent of another wolf. Obviously female, but where there was a female there's a male near by, and the last thing he wanted was a fight on an empty stomach.

"There's two options I see. Either you'll out of women, or the repulsive smell will be your permanent cologne." He snickered, beginning to walk the direction Hector was going. He doesn't where he was going, but he'll join the walk until one partakes in going somewhere else. He has a hunch that it might be himself.
The chilly air satisfied his lungs as he breathes in the cold. Winter was his favorite time of year. It's the silence of the snowfall is what makes him love it. Suddenly everything in time stops and only snow will fall to the ground. He'll miss it when the warm weather melts it all away.
"She still won't come off the mountain-- stubborn bitch."
"She's learning from me then, enjoying solitude while it lasts." He chuckled lightly, tucking his hands into his coat pockets. "Just give her time, eventually she'll get bored or hungry...speaking of food, wanna grab something?" He asked as his stomach growled.

Wind stood outside the den, arms folded to keep in the warmth behind her fur. Though it was Spring, the chill of winter had yet to leave the Den.
She pinned her ears back, knowing Hector was waiting for her down in the town. She wasn't too sociable with humans...even more so the humans in Bayville who used the Bayville pack as a sort of...tourist attraction. Beware the werewolves, hear their howls in the night!
It was the very reason why her father had the pack withdraw up higher into the mountains where the snow was heavy all year. They protected their territory from up here, and thus they protected the humans. From vampires...from rogue wolves...from other humans even...
And that's when the breeze tickled past her nose, giving her a chill and stinging her very fangs as she parted her lips. The air tasted like a lone male wolf...and he was close.
She inhaled deeply, readying her breath to howl a warning--and stopped. She didn't have a pack to warn that their was some strange male on their land...she only had Hector and Synook, and they were both detached males. Synook was a loner, never obligated to the pack as a member, and Hector... he wasn't really loyal...he just wanted an easier life...and that was his party with humans life style, not obeying her wishes...
She was alone. But she was okay with that.
She dropped to all fours and followed the wind, listening to the sounds of the forest. her paws dipped into the snow, her claws flexing with each pulled of the land as she ran. She followed his scent down a tight curve, in which she swayed her tail to keep balance. The breeze ruffled her brown and red pelt, giving her slim body a chill.
Due to the snow-- she almost completely missed the lone male -- for he was white with bits of black and gray. She slowed her pace, circling him on all fours before she stood up and blocked his path down to Bayville. She pinned her ears back, gold eyes narrowed.
"We don't have many visitors to our town," she flicked her tail. "Many aren't welcomed, do you have business in Bayville?" -------
"There's two options I see. Either you'll out of women, or the repulsive smell will be your permanent cologne."
Hector gave a light laugh, "jealous, jealous, jealous." He joked. "What's the matter Sy? I thought you'd like to have a wing-man now that we're free wolves-- I'm glad the pack took up Wind on her bet. We got a year to ourselves."
He shrugged, "Wind had a message for me to tell you by that way-- that Lake you hover over, she says you can have it on one condition, just patrol that side of the border. You don't have to welcome any one, just give notice -er something, I wasn't listening." He admitted with a chuckle.
"Actually, I got a condition-- since Spring is on it's way. Once that lake breaks the ice, ya gotta let me bring a pack of ladies. I promise I'll share if you do," he elbowed Synook as they walked the edge of town.
"By bite to eat ya' mean the dinner? Or are you in a hunting mood?" He rolled his shoulder, feeling his inner wolf wiggle under his skin at the thought.

Summing the Female up he realized, from her looks, that she wasn't a threat, but he couldn't be sure what her true skills were. From her confidence to come alone and her posture he could tell immediately that she was an alpha. He had never seen an alpha up close, and he didn't want to run and miss out on the chance to observe her. He knelt down on his legs, and lowered his head. He calmed his breathing and calmly spoke. "I'm sorry I was unaware of a pack was in this area. I was only passing through. The land in my home territory is nearly empty. All the large prey has moved further north for the coming summer just outside my, Our boundaries until this coming summer. I've been traveling along the mountains in search of a new food source." He Looked for weak points in her stance, it had none, so if things got bad he would have no choice but to out run her, and reach town where he would safe, Hopefully.

"I'm sorry I was unaware of a pack was in this area. I was only passing through.
"You can pass -around." She interrupted him, gold eyes never blinking, never leaving his. She knew from his flickering eyes that he was observing her, seeing if she had any weak points...or checking her out like some kind of potential piece of tail he could roll with.
The very idea made her lift her lips in a silent snarl as he continued to speak.
"The land in my home territory is nearly empty. All the large prey has moved further north for the coming summer just outside my, Our boundaries until this coming summer. I've been traveling along the mountains in search of a new food source."
"Then it is best you turn back around to your pack and work as a team-- in human form. It's easier to possess food that way, and doesn't break pack alliances." She stated.
[[Hector]]
She called to him within her own mind, knowing she wouldn't be able to take on this male, even if he was smaller. Wind wasn't known for strength, but her appearance made it look as if she was strong and powerful. It was a ploy--a ruse. Wind's actual skill? Her ability? She was named for the Wind because she was as fast as it. No wolf could catch her. No wolf could out run her.
But if laid a claw on her. She'd just as easily be dead. At the base of the mountain- Hector paused, listening to Wind in his head. He glanced at Synook who looked unphased. She must have only called to him.
[[What? I'm 'bout to get something to eat]]
Wind showed Hector what she saw, the male before her and said, "stand by... for me. Please."
Hector was tense. The male was small, little even compared to Hector and Synook, who were both the biggest werewolves in the area...but if Wind wasn't quick enough to get away from an attack, there was no way the two large males could run fast enough to help her.

"Wind had a message for me to tell you by that way-- that Lake you hover over, she says you can have it on one condition, just patrol that side of the border. You don't have to welcome any one, just give notice -er something, I wasn't listening."
Synook shook his head at how Hector finished his statement. Shouldn't messages like that be written down, at least texted? A guy without a phone is almost a myth today. Losing it is normal, but having no phone at all makes you almost an outcast.
"Of course you would forget. My best bet is to make sure whoever strolls by doesn't cause any harm. Doing what she ask, simple enough." He said, pulling his left hand out of his pocket, placing it on his stomach. When was the last time he ate? Maybe he should invest in a fridge in the store and stock on snacks at the most.
"Actually, I got a condition-- since Spring is on it's way. Once that lake breaks the ice, ya gotta let me bring a pack of ladies. I promise I'll share if you do..."
Synook gave a light laugh, knowing Hector would pull a smooth one like that. "I get the hottest ones though. I've heard the ladies these days like the quiet, mysterious types nowadays. Don't want you to get angry over me." The lake is his sanctuary. If he isn't at the gun shop, the lake would be the next place to find this quiet fellow.
"By bite to eat ya' mean the dinner? Or are you in a hunting mood?"
"I got a headache from watching the news about the new gun law now. People these days are..." He trailed off, noticing Hector beginning to tense. He looked ahead to spot anything. Nothing out of the ordinary. He looked at him again asking, "What's up?" He was concerned. Hector wouldn't tense out of the blue...Wind needs help? She would of contacted him if their was something wrong.

Aparrum stood to his full height "I can't go back," he huffed, "I wouldn't survive the journey. I can either stay here, or die, and frankly I'm not in a dieing mood," cocking his head slightly to the side. "I need to get to town." Lowering his head slightly he glarred at her. He was frightened, but he couldn't show it, not here. He wasn't moving, not unless it was in the direction of that town.

Hector tried to loosen up after contacting Wind. Tried to play off his worries. He didn't think a wolf would come to Bayville so soon...and if the old Bayville pack ever had members come and check in on them--only to find out Wind was dead for some reason...there'd be hell to pay--and Synook and Hector would be the ones to pay it. He didn't think of that...
"Yah...just patrol that side of Bayville since the pack's running thin... until we get some members--if we get some members," he shook off the negative feelings and tried a smile. "Just so you know, not all the pretty ones are right in the head--some are batshit crazy," he joked.
Nothing got passed Synook.
Hector shuffled in his jacket, knowing that Synook wouldn't hear anything from Wind unless she was directly calling him--because Synook was never really in the Bayville pack--didn't have that mental link. Instead, she contacted Hector--knowing full well where he stood under her leadership---which was sketchy at best...but she had some loyalty in him. This made him feel guilty.
"Wind's on the mountain, standing down a strange male. He's small compared to you an me, but he's just big enough to get a good bite out of her if she doesn't get out of his way. They're too high up for us to get to them in time if a fight breaks out and she does, but some chance, get caught....but we dn't know how fast this slim male is..."
--
Wind's eyes flashed as he stood before her, tall and determined...intimidating and seeking dominance. Her lips quivered in a silent snarl.
"I can't go back. I wouldn't survive the journey. I can either stay here, or die, and frankly I'm not in a dying mood. I need to get to town."
Wind snorted, unsure of herself and the strange male before her. "Know this male, that the town of Bayville was built on the backs of wolves and it's people, be they human or wolf, are protected under this pack," she was telling the truth of course...but also bluffing. He didn't need to know that the 'pack' was herself and Hector with a helpful friend being Synook...
"Any damage to the land, it's people, it's monuments--- I'll have your hide," she was serious. This was her land-- she had the deeds to each building, given to her by her father. She owned it, each building but the auto-shop and the gun store.
"You will stay at the lake-- with Synook, one of our guardians," when she said this out loud, above the roar of the snow blowing about, she also connected her mind with Synook so he could hear and see what she did, "He will determine if you're safe enough to enter the town and stay at our human den-- my hotel of sorts." She stated. "He'll provide you with food and shelter," and then in her mind, she apologized to Synook.
[[ Synook... I know we haven't talked personally very much, and I know you've never been obligated to my father's pack...but this is my land now...my pack...and I'm willing to let you have your own way and the lake...if you could just help me. I can't do this on my own...]]
She seemed to plead to him. A leader was nothing without obedient, loyal, and faithful followers.
Hector looked to Synook, unsure of what to say.

There's another werewolf here, already? Time flies a lot faster then he was expecting. Then again, all he's been doing in the past few weeks was fixing every gun he had in the shop in his underground workshop. Having no clock down there must have sped up time.
Synook looked to Hector with no expression. "From what I've learned, nothing can outrun a bullet." He said, motioning his gun he keeps holstered at his right side. He uses his gun to speak when there is trouble. No need to get bloodstains on his good jacket. "Let's get moving before something does happen." He said as he begin to run towards the mountain.
Only a few steps later, he stopped in motion. An image of the mostly white werewolf flashed in front of his eyes, hearing the voice of Wind speak.
"He will determine if you're safe enough to enter the town and stay at our human den-- my hotel of sorts. He'll provide you with food and shelter..."
He got his sight back again, then he heard Wind speak in his mind.
[[ Synook... I know we haven't talked personally very much, and I know you've never been obligated to my father's pack...but this is my land now...my pack...and I'm willing to let you have your own way and the lake...if you could just help me. I can't do this on my own...]]
Synook took a deep breath, exhaling slowly as the thought of watching this unknown werewolf sunk in his head. It couldn't be the lady magnet to do it. He'll do it, he's not going to like it. Wind did help him out after all, this is one way to show that he'll do what she asks from him.
[[I'm not going to like it, but I'll be there shortly. I'll keep the gun on safety for the time being.]] After he spoke with Wind, he begin to sprint to where she was. Hector would catch up eventually or beat him there. Regardless, this one wasn't going to run anywhere.

[[ apologies for inactivity]] "You will stay at the lake-- with Synook, one of our guardians,"
Aparrum felt realived when her words sunk in through the shock. He exhaled deeply, " Thank you," He knelt back down. The hunger was starting to affect his strength and his energy, so he played it off as a sign of respect.
"He will determine if you're safe enough to enter the town and stay at our human den-- my hotel of sorts. He'll provide you with food and shelter,"
"and I assume you'll be taking me their?" He didnt need a reply for not to far off the sent of wolves filled his nostrils. They were strong sent implieing they were large. He wondered whether or not one of them would be his host for the next few presumably long weeks.

"From what I've learned, nothing can outrun a bullet."
Hector looked away, smirking at the wind. As if Synook could shoot up the mountain, miles away to some small brute.
"Let's get moving before something does happen."
He didn't follow, instead he put his hands in his pockets and went back into town. Wind didn't need both of them- and Synook was cocky enough to help for once.
[[I'd appreciate that,]] Wind's voice echoed down the mountain to Synook's mind. The sudden dissidence of her mind from his was sharp. Because he wasn't of Bayville pack, he wasn't always connected. Not like Hector, who down below tried to shrug her off his mind.
She blinked, breaking contact from both male below, and stared at he white one before her speaking.
"and I assume you'll be taking me there?"
"No, Synook is on his way. He'll be taking you to his domain."
OOC: Sorry for the short reply, in-laws are coming over and I have to clean. Synook, if you'd like to post and then make a 'Lake / Loners' thread, you can do that!
