It was a time when no land was claimed and horses broke away from their human suppressors. All breeds and all types of Equines had now been liberated, galloping west across the unmanned and untamed new found world.
One of those Equines, a black Stallion named Black Oak, grew greedy. He and his three brothers in spirit, led a Bachelor band of eight stallions, dubbed the Black Hearts, into the heart of the Equine Homeland, and crushed every leader that stood in their path, be they Stallion or Mare.
Stomping on the corpses of their enemies, Black Oak and his band of slayers overtook six herds and claimed them their own. One mighty herd was established, Black Oak’s Herd, made up of his three brothers in spirit, the eight original bachelors, three guardian stallions, and thirty-one equines consisting of stolen mares and foals.
For three seasons, Black Oak ruled with an iron hoof, and destroyed any irritant in his way, be they rebellious herd member, threatening rogue, betraying bachelor, nagging mare, or annoying foal. At the beginning of the third season, Black Oak took an unwilling appaloosa mare of his own, named Fallen Lilac.
During the season of dropping foals, Black Oak witnessed the birth of his first born, a filly he named Furst Frost due to her unique coat coloring. He raised Furst Frost with pride and determination, implanting dominance and aggression in the innocent filly’s heart.
The sixth season of Black Oak’s reign, Furst Frost had turned three, and was requested to court bachelor, by bachelor, repeatedly. She tossed her mane and raised her muzzle to all, refusing their gifts and kind words. She was a strong filly, a dominate mare, strong and proud enough to take Black Oaks place.
Until Furst Frost met Morning Sun, a rogue palomino mustang. He was found at the outskirts of the herd, grazing contently and unaware of the danger he was potentially in. Furst Frost attempted to chase the stallion out, but he simply trotted around her playfully. The friendly, affectionate, and kind stallion was unnatural to Furst Frost, and after two moons, they had fallen deeply in love. Furst Frost was becoming kinder, and the entire herd noticed the changes in her mood. A guardian stallion, Midnight Crown, was sent to watch her, and had followed her to Morning Sun.
At word of Furst Frosts secret Courtship, Black Oak became furious. He and his original herd, the Black Hearts, charged the palomino out of the lands, planning to stomp him into the dirt until there was nothing more. But Morning Sun was tricky, and he outwitted the band of murdering bachelors through a mountain maze, where many had fallen to their deaths or broke limps that left them to fend off predators with no chance of surviving.
However, Black Oak had cornered Morning Sun and the two stallions fought a bloody and violent battle. There were torn ears, pulled manes, kicks that left broken bones and body bruises, and finally, flesh-ripping bites. At the end of the night, Morning Sun had stood victorious and defeated Black Oak, but at a price. Morning Sun died of fatal wounds.
With a heavily broken heart, Furst Frost took Black Oak’s place in the herd. She announced the death of her father and mate, only to get a response of pure joy. A cheer neighed out across the lands, and Furst Frost knew what she had to do. She released the herds under her fathers command.
A committee and treaty was formed, led by Furst Frost. The mare had allowed Equines to leave the herd and make bands of their own, but was surprised that the large herd did not wish to leave the bonds and ties they shared. Various bachelorette mares and bachelor stallions left, to form two separate herds from Black Oaks. The original Black hearts herd left after their leaders slaughter, turning their backs on their new lead mare. However, Furst Frost requested that the leader of each band join together once a month to remain the strength of the ties formed under her father’s slavery.
Furst Frost was still broken hearted as she watched the departing herds. She had It was a time when no land was claimed and horses broke away from their human suppressors. All breeds and all types of Equines had now been liberated, galloping west across the unmanned and untamed new found world.

She herself saw Black Oak as a powerful, dominate, leader who ruled over the biggest herd in the land.
But now she knew the truth. He was a control freak...and she was blind to his hatred.
Now, she was the leader of her fathers herd, and she announced that the equines could leave, be free. Now, she watched as stallions and mare left, and of course, the Black Hearts would never obey her as they did with her father.
The black appy-mare stood on the highest hill, watching her herd split apart in four different directions. The wind lifted her dark chocolate mane, black fur ruffling and making the black spots dance on her uniquely white rump.
Her name was Furst Frost, the first born of Black Oak. She was a tall, mighty mare, who was broken on the inside, but would never show it. She had lost her father and mate in one night...last night...to each others lashing hooves.
She had to be strong now, and make a treaty with the other leaders of the remaining bands (smaller herds). She'd talk with the Lead Mare of the Female Bacholertte Herd another day, for she had more worries over her own mares and foals at the moment, protecting them from stealing stallions. For now, she'sd speak with the leader of the Black Hearts herd, and the leader of the Bachelor herd.
She needed to make sure her own herd, the Black Oakes, were safe and would not be attacked by The Black Hearts, or stolen by the single stallions of the bachelor herd.
